Design and evaluation of adaptive optical systems

There is a growing demand for systems based on adaptive optics in the automotive industry. This is partially due to the fact that this technology allows to implement lighting functions with unpreceded versatility. Optical devices tailored for specific applications make it possible to adapt light distributions to the traffic situation, to the current state of the car, or to the environmental conditions encountered while driving. Modern design and simulation tools in conjunction with optical metrology allow to gain data and insight on the characteristic properties of an adaptive illumination system under investigation.
