Applied Optics in Wroclaw University of Technology after the year 1945
Wrocław University of Technology, Wroclaw
Abstract
First steps in founding and development of optics in Wroclaw based on transfer of technology (Zygmunt Bodnar) and methodology of optical calculations (Roman S. Ingarden and Miron Gaj) are described. Development of optical teaching starting from both design and calculation of optical instruments to studying in physical optics, optoelectronics and photonics are mentioned. Additionally the following topics are considered: main results of optical research, including optical methodology, basic investigations in physical optics and progress in optical computing technology. Finally a review of editorial activity in optics i.e. books and Optica Applicata is presented.
