Abstract
The laboratory setup of an adaptive optical phoropter has been built with the goal to measure and correct the wavefront error of the eye. Using this phoropter, the visual acuity and the contrast sensitivity have been tested. The optotypes were presented on a TFT display being integrated into the system. These tests were done under two conditions. One condition only included the classical sphero-cylindrical correction of the eye and the other one included the higher aberrations in addition. Both corrections were generated with the adaptive optical system. To control the measured aberrations, a measurement with a commercial wavefront analyzing system and a subjective refraction were performed out. We present first results of these measurements in probands.
