Abstract
We present investigations of the photo-induced absorption in a nominally pure photorefractive Bi12TiO20 crystal and compare the dynamic characteristics of the induced absorption for cw and pulse lasers (ns and ps regimes). The spectral and dynamic characteristics of the multi-photon absorption processes are determined. The induced absorption is the result of two-photon processes, which can be described by a dynamic model based on the experimental parameters.
