Abstract

Interface is build from microcontroller ATMEGA644PA, which is used as a mediator and buffer between CCD sensor and PC. Microcontroller ATMEGA644PA is using RS232 serial port for communication with FTDI chip, which is connected to USB port in PC, and Serial Peripheral Interface for communication with CCD sensor (CCD sensor is SPI Master, microcontroller is SPI Slave). Program for microcontroller is written in C (CodeVision AVR), and program for client PC is written in LabVIEW. Purpose of project is to build easy replicable sensor modules with serial or USB output, which can be used in many different optical devices such as optical spectrometers, interferometers, position sensors, barcode readers...
