Holographic wavefront sensing for optical phase conjugation
Laboratory for Measurement and Testing Techniques, Technische Universität Dresden
Abstract
Adaptive optical systems (AOS) are gaining much interest due to the technological progress of adaptive optical elements in recent years. AOS can principally enhance the applicability of all optical measurement techniques, as they allow reducing wavefront aberrations and thus enable performing measurements through distortions, like e.g. diffusing or opaque layers. In this contribution we give a thorough analysis of our adaptive optical phase conjugation system which is based on holographic wavefront-sensing. The performance of the system in dependence of the nature and degree of the distortion is investigated. Furthermore different possible applications of the phase conjugation system are presented including the correction of systematic phase errors in digital holographic master-slave like interferometers and flow measurements through distortions by using adaptive micro particle image velocimetry.
