Abstract
In order to bring extreme light and particle fields to the service of scientific community, the ELI beamlines facility was conceived. It is being built in Dolní Břežany around 4 main laser systems, each with outstanding parameters in their field. The state of the art technologies have to provide i.e. very robust multi-kW class pump lasers with 10Hz operation for Ti:Sapphire and OPCPA broadband amplifiers or high average power picosecond kHz lasers synchronized to 10s of femtoseconds. The 10PW laser will be firing every minute and can be reconfigured to a multi-kJ beamline with pulse shaping capability coupled with a PW backlighter. The design, construction and integration of these systems present many challenges in research, development and engineering. Several related topics from the field of optical modeling and design, large laser crystal growth technology development, development of (opto) mechanical or timing systems will be presented.
