Abstract

Efficient optical design is pivotal for achieving optimal system performance, requiring iterative adjustments to merit function editor operands, targets, and weights. Recognizing the inherent challenges of this process, we propose an innovative, program-based optimization algorithm. This algorithm revolutionizes the iterative nature of optical design by allowing users to input optical design specifications (first-order parameters. aberrations, polarization, glass selection, cost, etc.) and mechanical constraints, facilitating a customized optimization approach. Seamlessly integrated with Zemax OpticStudio, our program efficiently addresses the intricate steps involved in iterative design. Moreover, our optimization algorithm simplifies complexities inherent in the process, ensuring streamlined efficiency when tackling iterative design challenges. This comprehensive approach markedly reduces the time and effort invested in optical design, presenting a novel and practical solution for achieving optimal performance in optical systems. 106 kdesign und -theorie
