Abstract
We previously presented a method to calibrate a Multi-Aperture-Array-Projector (MAAP) that enables 3-D reconstructions for optical metrology using only a single camera. A stereo-camera configuration was previously required. Calibrating the MAAP from a single camera view is done via direct sampling of the illumination frustum of each projection channel. This is performed by scanning a test plane through the measurement volume and imaging with the camera each channel’s projected illumination. The MAAP calibration process can be considered to be laborious as the test plane must be scanned and imaged through the measurement volume. A process is desired that could shorten the time to complete calibration. However, a calibrated measurement volume is encoded only for a specific camera view. A solution is proposed that artificially synthesizes calibration images from a completely new camera view without requiring to perform the calibration process again.
